East Coast brides-to-be!

For all of my fellow East Coast divas looking for a place to buy bridal gowns, there is a store just for you! New York magazine recently posted an article, seen here about a bridal retailer specifically for plus size women. Curvaceous Couture is based in Columbia, MD and specializes in sizes 16-22. The store was started by Yukia Walker, who just couldn't understand why designers are basically ignoring the plus size consumer.

The store is so popular that high-end designer Reem Acra designs a line exclusively for the store.

Miss Tina by Tina Knowles

The mom of superstar Beyonce Knowles just added another line of clothing to her plate. Tina Knowles is designing Miss Tina for Walmart. It will be available in sizes 2-20. most of the pieces will be $20 or less. She believes that no matter what size you are, you deserve good fashion. Her dresses are adjusted for the size. Different sizes will hit the most flattering part of your body, according to her.

While I am disappointed that this line will only come up to a size 20, I'm sure some fashionistas will be excited!

Faith 21 = Forever 21+

Seems Forever 21's attempt to sell plus size clothing has not been noticed. Maybe it's because your plus sizes go up to a 16/18?

Anyway, their plus size line Faith 21 has now been renamed so that the line is more recognized as a brand of Forever 21 and plus size. Therefore, the name of the line is now Forever 21+ (creative, huh?)

Tell you what, Forever 21. Spend more time making clothes in larger sizes, and less time worrying about how much you are selling because of the name. You will sell more if you make the clothing in larger sizes.

New option for maternity clothes

Being plus size and around seven months pregnant, I have been looking for more stylish options than some stores have wanted to offer to me. Mostly, I have been wearing my own clothes. But Old Navy has just come out with a plus size maternity line. Mind you, the selection is very limited and most of the clothes have sold out already, but it's better than some of the options you will find elsewhere! Maternity clothes come up to 3X, and it's on the plus size part of their website. Many basics, such as t-shirts, peasant tops, tanks, and maternity slacks are available to you.

I don't know about you, but I'm very happy about this, as Old Navy is one of my favorite stores!
